Well, it is very interesting what I hear in this thread. I hope N24 will come to Germany also. We have News24 at night via BBC World. And I like it much better than BBC World becaus you get news 24 hours a day. Perhaps BBC will decide to put N24 on Astra 19.2 in the future.

well BBC News 24 is part of the British TV Licence so it would never become available to germany! It's not even ment to be broadcast in ireland!

BBC News 24 is also broadcast via another satellite it's on the same transponder as British Forces TV.

do we know if maxine mawwwwwwhiinnnneeeeey is leaving news 24?

by the way you are currently going, there will be no-one left in the BBC to present the news only a desk, a few screens and a sofa.

and before you post things like that, and you may have heard this a billion times, you NEED your proof, where did this come from??

I think he is just asking a question Laughing

Whilst I do not know whether she is leaving or not, i think it would be unlikely that she is, and is just taking a break (as in previous years she often takes quite a bit of time off around this time)

Interesting to see that the TOTH titles have reverted back to the normal speed (ie slow), but they have gone slower than the normal speed used before the new graphics package was introduced.

Why DO they do this? Surely they can cope for the few mins of weather withouth runing it with a breaking news strap containing little or no useful info!

BBC News 24 - Titles

Why have they changed them, again. The globe is slower than ever now, it's hardly moving.

They don't usually do this. The problem on this forum at least is that if they do it they get bashed, if they don't do it they get accused of not responding quickly enough! Lose-lose...Bless you News 24, Blews 24.

Which is okay because only British people can view it in the British Army...I'd suspect their relatives or themselves will be paying the television licence fee, no? BFBS and News 24 cannot be accessed by anyone else as it is encrypted.

Not strictly true. In the Falkland Islands, all residents - army and civilian - can watch BFBS and News 24. They do not pay a licence fee, and are not necessarily of "British stock and tradition" - although there are certainly no Argentines. (Quote: Thatcher, 1982)

The globe spins at the same speed of the BBC World's one.

The female presenter is Carole Walker, the male presenter (from afar) looks like Tim Willcox but I can't be sure.
