Hmm.

It's difficult to show in a single picture as it doesn't look much but when it's moving down the screen top left to bottom right it's more noticeable. No not his beard, in that picture it's on the left. I guess Cardiff not being much of a populated city there are not too many people here who could say that I am telling the truth, I am.

I feel like Lucy in the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Notice the BBC News 24 titles are showing a BBC News logo in place of the headline spinning. Looks like a temporary VT until they can fit 'RTS News Channel of the Year' into their normal technology.

Although... isn't the headline on the title sequence generated live by TOG (as opposed to the standard title playout used for the National bulletins and where the BBC News logo is used on the N24 titles)? And wasn't there some kind of issue with the TOG programmers whereby they were - for various, undisclosed reasons - unable or unwilling to update the TOG system (which was the reason given by insiders for the continued use of supposedly incorrect titles on BBC World, where the BBC World logo appeared in the wrong place)?

Or am I just making all of this up?

Looks like the theory is true, I guess this is now a problem as if they want to update anything in the future, they won't be able to using TOG

Is Mr. Peter Sissons still at the channel? If so, what does he present?

They've now got a version which instead of saying 'BBC NEWS' like on BBC One, has 'BBC NEWS 24' spinning round the globe. I think this looks much better.

I don't think so (or at least it didn't the other day). If it was TOG, they would probably have a spinning headline but as i've said, I don't think they can put 'RTS News Channel of the Year' on to TOG.

There are a few different versions. Some use the BBC logo, (in Gill Sana) I don't think they use TOG, but others simply say BBC News or News 24 written in the normal hadline text (Swiss font), I think these do use TOG.

Looks like they can't make any changes with the TOG system, I wonder what the Beeb will do if they want to make any fundemental changes to the aston design or titles?

Maybe they weren't expecting to get News Channel of the Year. Wink

Ok so if the TOG programmers can't/won't make changes to the titles, then why were the titles on BBC World changed in the first place?
I can't see News 24 using these VT titles on a permanent basis - they'll probably just go back to normal TOG titles or perhaps they'll have incorporated the RTS thing into the TOG titles by tomorrow morning.
