The channel I am referring to, Moz, is the biggest broadcast outlet (apart possibly from Al Jazeera) here in the Middle East.
Other "big" (word chosen with caution) names who left the "prestigious" BBC and came over here include David Cass (BBC World) and Shahnaz Pakravan (ITN then BBC Tomorrow's World).

I noticed that Paul Woods' programme this evening on Afghanistan carried 24-branded "BBC NEWS SPECIAL" titles. I don't believe that I've actually seen these before, nor have I seen any kind of "BBC NEWS SPECIAL" branding since the 1999-2003 look. I've seen specials advertised on supers and full-screen slides, but most of these either have special titles (like 'Global Warning') or just use standard N24 titles.
If I recall correctly, there were unique image-based titles for the London bombings, rather than standardised BBC NEWS SPECIAL titles. During the 1999-2003 look, the standard special titles ended with:
I've not seen standardised special titles in the current BBC News look. The titles used today were identical to the non-headline N24 titles (i.e. with the BBC News logo scrolling around the globe instead of a headline), ending with something similar to this:
There have been many "BBC NEWS SPECIAL"s since the new look was introduced, including the US elections, Global Warning, the Asia tsunami and many more, but this is the first time that I've seen a standardised "BBC NEWS SPECIAL" title sequence in the style of the current BBC News look.
