Yes, they are father and daughter - and both work together on Saturday nights increasingly often.

We've been treated to Big Al for the last 3 weeks on the Friday night 10 news hour, and the 22:00 - 01:00 shift - a permenant fixture?

Also on today's overnight simulcast we have none other than Susan Osman in the chair. They don't call it the graveyard shift for nothing.

Never mind the children. She terrifies the editors if she is on any earlier!

Nope, sorry he's taken up with MISS JULIA CEASEUR and that's more than any man should have to content with.

This probably isn't the right place to put this, but I didn't think it warranted its own thread. I noticed at London Waterloo yesterday that the design of the BBC headlines video display board had changed. There's a new background, and it's no longer branded as "BBC NEWS 24". There's also a rather snappy animation ahead of each news type - news headlines, sport, business, weather - saying something like "whenever you like, wherever you are" and then a huge BBC NEWS logo flashes in before zipping into the feeds of the headlines.

Looks good.

Hmmmmm. Could part of this be a coincidental hint of something that might be to come....?

Certainly sounds like it. Come to think of it, I saw the exact same think only at Edinburgh Waverely Very Happy

Is this on TV (for want of a better word) of for the "other" services, e.g. big screens.

Yes, I was blonde.

Is Jane Hill still (currently) on News 24?? We have a "voice" over here on local radio, that is identical to Jane's.

Just wondering.

Yes, it's true. She's left News 24 and is now doing voice-overs for local radio. Apparently the salary - not to mention the prestige of the job - was higher. Rolling Eyes
