Does anyone know why BBC News 24 now use a static aerial shot, I liked it when it zoomed in to the presenter sitting behind the newsdesk.

do they only use a static one now? It was nice when they moved it around but got boring as certain people always did the same shot.

It was nice during big interviews when they trundled it around the desk.

Who thinks that News 24 should have a slogan like BBC World?

Possibly
'24 hours a day,7 days a week BBC News 24.

Thanks goodness for that. My palpatations have just stopped now. But, why not have Peter Sissons back on the Ten? There was nothing wrong with him there in the past, IMHO. He is credible, serious, and can be light hearted when he wants to be. Besides, he is far more suited to a fixed bulletin, as opposed to rolling news.

Just my tuppence worth..........

Ideally, I would like to see Peter and Michael back on the 10, but i dont know whether they would actually want to be back on the 10 after "retiring". Havent seen much of the Buerk recently, I am just hoping that the new thing in the BWF slot will be "Buerk and Sissons on Sunday" !!!

And I thought it was "If it happens, it happens here"...

I dont really like the Jon-Louise combo, Jane and Matt were much better in this slot. Louise especially cant cope with breaking news too well with a deadly silence appearing a couple of times just before 4.30. Unlike Jane and Matt they dont really interact with the business or sports presenters much either.

Personally I think Phil and Anna are quite boring, Joanna and Matt are not bad and Jane is not yet at her best with Chris. Maybe there improve in time but I would have made some other changes to the schedule than those that have been made.

Changes need to be made with the schedule I agree, but I think that Jane and Matt have a good on-screen chemistry, almost as good as Bill and Sian. Phil and Anna bore me to death, and don't get me started on Maxine... Rolling Eyes

I quite like Maxine actually but feel she needs a bit more exposure. She's much better if she is with someone like Adrian Finighan and I think they would make a good pairing. They certainly were when they were on together a few months back.

I think Maxine's all right although then again it's probably just her accent that's good.
Philip Hayton and Joanna Gosling were the worst combination - they were too dull in the morning and despite being split up some time ago, neither have made any improvements.

Yeah they are now using a static aerial shot, although they are making very good use of the aerial camera, well they were in the morning, I haven't seen News 24 since.

Perhaps Maxine Mawhinney is away? I'm not keen on Joanna Gosling, hopefully this is just a temporary thing.

Chris Eakin's excellent so it's good to have him on in the evenings with Jane, but I'm not sure about moving Jon and Louise to the afternoons - I've never really rated either of them particularly highly.

Philip and Anna are fine, and Peter Dobbie's always good on the late shift.

Possibly the greatest loss in this reshuffle IMO is Kate Silverton - she's really improved over the last few months and I reckon she's one of the best presenters on the channel. I hope she hasn't been completely removed and continues to appear as a fill-in.

News 24 seem to have a bit of a surplus of female presenters actually. With Carrie Gracie, Susanna Reid, Gwenan Edwards, Liz Pike and Kate Silverton kicking around as potential fill-in, it's going to be hard to fit them all in.
