Part of the problem is surely that the BBC One "presenters" are relatively untested at rolling news and handling rapidly breaking stories- certainly far less experienced then the incumbents.

Well the specific examples quoted, Huw has plenty of News24 experience under his belt, and didn't Natasha come from Sky News?

Anna Ford and possibly Fiona Bruce I'd take your point on.

Surely there'd be a "limit" on who'd appear, another Sission situation appearing with Ford...

Anyway Tash did used to do Sky (There's another joke in that...)

Perhaps Huw and Miss. BBC News herself are both going to present the 10. just an idea.

I only say this because I hate her on breakfast and think she would be better in a more formal surroundings. Plus she is one of the most well known presenters at the beeb, so I guess to promote this a; 'flagship' bulletin, they might get her in.

Otherwise I don't see how they will incorporate her into the line-up...

She's already been sent to the six.

Personally I'd give her weekends, or failing that a P45

I would like to see most of the BBC One faces on N24 as I think most would work effectively, and perhaps more so than some of the worse presenters like Joanna Gosling and Chris Lowe. However of course one has to be careful we don't end up with another Peter Sissons as would happen with Anna Ford and more than likely Fiona Bruce and Darren Jordon.

Perhaps they will re-organise the shifts to incorporate the new presenters. Shift changes could include:

Weekdays 22.00-01.00 not 23.00-01.00 with Peter Dobbie and other presenter.
Weekends 09.00-13.00, 13.00-16.00, 16.00-19.00 as opposed to (Saturdays) 09.00-13.00, 13.00-19.00 and (Sundays) 09.00-13.00, 13.00-17.00, 17.00-19.00 .
Perhaps also an inclusion of a 22.00-01.00 slot on weekends as well.

Just in case anyone's interested - never seen this before. Live coverage in a little box of Pluto mission. Interestingly there was also a transparent bar along the right edge of the screen with the News 24 tonight background on it.

They have been using that quite often recently, allowing several breaking stories to be covered at once. The small in-vision box, red ticker and aston and of course the main screen itself mean that two or more major stories can be covered at once.

Another appearance by CNN's Tony Campion today alongside Louise.

I take your point, but presenters of the 'Breakfast' programme have some experience of rolling news. Sophie Raworth, Sian Williams, Bill Turnbull and Simon McCoy would be able to handle it.

All these presenters are (or have been) on-air for over half an hour at a time. They have a similar role to those doing a three to four hour SKY News shift.

'Breakfast' is also airred live on BBC News 24.

He he - that was good!

I have to admit that I do not watch 'Breakfast'. That is mainly due to fact I run about like a headless chicken at this time of day.

The only remotely civilised thing to do at that time of day is to listen to the Today Programme on Radio 4 - anything else just doesn't cut it.

Darren Jordon also worked on BBC News 24/World during the Flags Era and George Alagiah is an excellent journalist with experience of rolling news - remember he was drafted in the evening of the first bombing raids on Afghanistan in 2001? I'm sure with his skill, he'd be able to manage it on a regular basis.

So, that really only leaves Fiona Bruce and Anna Ford who haven't had any experience of a rolling news channel. The rest have at least had a little experience, with some having had quite a lot.
