I've said it once and I'll say it again, Peter Sissons should undoubtedly move back to the National News. He has done the BBC News bulletins today and he is far better. He seems puzzled and confused when he presents on N24!

Good evening, welcome to News 24 with me, Tim Willcox Very Happy

Indeed, I've been saying the same thing for a couple of years. He's always been far better on standalone bulletins than rolling news. He really isn't very good on N24 but he is excellent on BBC1. Different styles suit different people and Peter Sissons obviously prefers fixed bulletins. I really don't understand why he was moved to N24, as it has clearly been a mistake. Why can't them permanently move him back to BBC1?

Newer, younger, more attractive talent. Stick him on BBC Radio 4.

I would agree, however this is not the case for BBC management.

So when the national bulletins went out from the N24 studio, did they show trailers either side of it? Was another presenter on duty or were they just showing Reviews of the Year? I know Tim Willcox and Gwenan Edwards were on the usual evening shift, but not sure at what time they finished.
I saw the late bulletin - after Darren had finished, a female presenter (Gwennan?) read a brief summary, and showed some pictures from Central London, until the start of the BBC One show.

The 0900-1000 hour this morning is being referred to as "Bank Holiday 24" - though just as with Weekend 24, there's no presentation difference nor any obvious distinction in stories to a standard hour of rolling news.

what is wrong with the graphics on News 24 today? There seem to be about 5 lines at the bottom missing. The ticker is too low on screen, the padding at the bottom of the clock and name astons is missing and when they used big ted for their silly breakfast "contact us" graphics (why do they use a different system for that?) it peeked several lines over the top of the clock.

Probably named as such as it was simulcast on BBC TWO.

Exactly. Some people are suited to rolling news but not bulletins and vice versa. Its very different presenting a bulletin to presenting rolling news.

I noticed that during the overnight bulletins with World that there were a few problems with the astons appearing randomly and then changing the text from CAPS for name to standard lower case, looked much better actually on the astons. That, and Tim Muffet desperatly trying to act like a *proper* newsreader. Bless.

Don't think this has been mentioned before, but how amusing to read in today's paper that News 24 were desperate to poach the Sun's George Pascoe-Watson to replace Nik Robertson.

Presumably you lot on here who claim that Sky News = Sun News would have been horrified at such an appointment.

I feel this is a bit unfair, he's just doing what he's been asked to do. His style of presentation is traditionally 15 seconds or whatever it's called, and he's also predominantly a reporter. Why not put La Kaplinski on overnights?

The end is nie. Run for the hills!

Don't see why though. N24 has a Cheif Political Correspondent, Muppet mind but still.

Haven't heard this one....Toddles off...
