[And great to see Chris Eakin getting a just promotion- handles breaking news in an excellent way.

Is moving from the afternoon to late evening a promotion? I gather 4-7 is prime slot, but is there much difference in the other two?

Tim Willcox should have his own slot instead of Amroliwala.

I agree totally, Tim Willcox is not used enough, relegated to Sunday mornings and late nights, he is excellent.

Is there really such a thing as a prime time slot on a rolling news channel? After all breaking news happens at any moment, not just a so called prime time.

Prime time on a news channel is usually when most people are watching i.e. between 4-6pm.

But thats my point, do more people actually watch at these times? Most people are commuting between 4pm and 6pm!

, they should bring in people like Anita MacNaught and Martine Dennis from World.

Unfortunately Anita McNaught seems to have left the BBC to work in New Zealand.

Well Matthew and Joanna are on now - there quite good together. Is Joanna permanently in this slot or is just for today?

Were Phil and Anna on this morning?

P.S. Is the signing always on the 2pm hour? I thought it was at 1?

Louise Minchin's back with Jon in the 4-7 slot...

Does this mean we wont see Kate Silverton anymore on News 24? Sad

How unfortuante, Kate Silverton IMO is much better than Minchin (when she first appeared on News 24, it was awful, but she has improved massively since then). They should have sent Minchin back to Five Live.

Is this a proposed rota, or is it just a ' This is how I would have it. ' ?

I like the idea of Darren on the Ten, but Matthew Amroliwala ? I like Maxine Mawhinney too, but I think she needs a bit more exposure before being part of the BBC1 team.

It is a bit of both, it is a speculation on what could happen when Anna Ford retires, and I think a preparation for a slight change (involving mainly second or third presenters on BBC1) might be being reflected on the new BBC News 24 rota. However, there is a bit of "this is how i would have it" involved.

I also think Darren would be better on the 10. I think he is generally quite poor on the weekend bulletins (he is deadly serious, a quality I think is ideal for the 10) whereas, whilst seriousness is important for the serious news, there needs to be a bit of relief for lighter stories. He is very good on the 1, but really excells when on the 10. While I have put Matthew on the 10, I think he could be potentially good (but, as third presenter, being rarely seen on it) but you never really know until they actualy do it.

And, BBC World, as for Moira, she would of course be keeping her current role on Breakfast, just for you! Laughing Laughing

Phil and Anna were indeed on this morning. Appears Gosling and Amroliwala were on 1-4. All i can say is thank GOD they are on while I am at work... If Joanna is on during the day Mon-Fri, does this mean that the terrible Gwenan Edwards is going to be Chris Lowe's sidekick at weekends?

Munchings and Jon Sopel were on 4-7 and then Eakin and Jane 7-11...

Thanks goodness for that. My palpatations have just stopped now. But, why not have Peter Sissons back on the Ten? There was nothing wrong with him there in the past, IMHO. He is credible, serious, and can be light hearted when he wants to be. Besides, he is far more suited to a fixed bulletin, as opposed to rolling news.

Just my tuppence worth..........
