That's interesting - Joanna is presenting again this morning, despite having been on until midnight last night (or as far as I know; I didn't watch last night). I've never seen her presenting at this time before.

Gwennan Edwards presented in Joanna's slot last night

Nice use of News 24 Bed this afternoon, fastforwarding a bit from the usual bit.

I've just got in - what was the presenter line up today, as the large explosion seems to have affected output somewhat? Was Tim Willcox paired up with Joanna Gosling this morning or something?

cheers

Bill and Mishal did Breakfast till 9am (Match of the day moved to BBC2 at 10am). Bill stayed with Joanna till about 10.30 i think. I didnt hear Bill from about 10 something anyway. Joanna was then on her own. At 11am, she did a news update on BBC1.

Did anyone notice the breakdown in the ticker this morning at just before 8.15? The bar under the tower which gives the word on the topic disappeared to allow us just a red rectangle and then when Have Your Say was scrolling across the bar said 'Headlines' instead of Have Your Say. I wonder what happened (I do have some caps if anyone is interested)

Thanks guys

...Tim is still on now, I imagine he started at 13.00 and will contine until Chris & Gwenan take over at 19.00.

I would imagine that having Joanna on today was pre-planned, probably orignally in Alistair Yates' shift, but they swapped her around with Tim so that Bill could stay on the air for longer as a recognised 'face' this morning. Means more hours on the air for Tim though Smile

Or maybe Tim just wanted to do 1-7 straight (like yesterday) instead of doing 9-1 and 5-7 seeing as he's also covering for Peter this weekend...

Very true, I didn't see N24 yesterday so I wasn't aware of that.

Always good to see the main man behind the desk

I see the ticker has been changed since the weekend. Rather than identifying each story as it passes, the ticker now just reads HEADLINES. Not too sure if I like the change, I found it a lot more helpful when each story was identified on it's own. It might grow on me though.

I also think the graphic used behind the split screen at the moment is far too dark and lifeless. It's a pity that an animated image isn't used and a bit more colour added, looks very stayed compared to Sky's background.

Interesting pairing on the 09.00 - 13.00 this week, Rachel Schofield and Ben Geoeghan.

The ticker has also been updated to include Breaking News. Previously when they wanted to use the ticker for breaking stories, they had to revert to the old style ticker with the red or darker blue subject box. Now the ticker has the capacity to display breaking news with the subject box reading 'Breaking' and coloured in the bright red used on the aston for breaking news.
