If that's true I think it's an excellent rota.
Jon Sopel and Louise Minchin have always worked well together. And great to see Chris Eakin getting a just promotion- handles breaking news in an excellent way.

Yes, Chris is a brilliant presenter. Just look at the coverage he did off Ellen Macarthur's return. He was on all day and nearly all night for News 24. Him and Jane have worked together before on Weekend 24 a few years ago. They were pretty good together.
These new times might possibly satisfy an aim of having recognisable faces around to cover major breaking news? Admittedly Louise doesn't quite fit there, but in the evening one of the Six or Ten presenters who'd be around would be able to replace Chris on News 24.
I very rarely feel sufficiently moved to post, but have to in order to defend Chris Eakin! He's certainly not dull (some lovely lives for the Ellen MacArthur coverage, and the 'golden shot' outtake tv clip will alwas be a classic) and I particularly remember his OBs anchoring Soham coverage during the trial as beautifully toned*.
* As in he got the tone right; not that he'd been in the gym all afternoon.

I agree Chris is excellent - but normally there is more UK Breaking News (court cases, police press conferences, polticial stuff in th UK) in the earlier slots - 1900-2230 is less "breaking news", and more "analysis" and "set piece" interviews.
Sure Chris and Jane will be excellent - they were on-screen colleagues on the News 24 Breakfast service, until it was replaced by a simulcast of "Breakfast" in 2000.

tend to agree with both sides on the Chris Eakin story.
He was also excellent at Boscastle (after the news was actually broken by Tim Willcox)... one memorable moment was when an ITN van reversed into view of the BBC camera during one of Chris' OBs. Was obvious Chris was told in his earpiece to move to his left to obscure the ITN logo on the van!! So I do think he is excellent during breaking news OBs, but i think he is a bit dull in the studio...
Matthew gets on my nerves to be honest. He looks like a Burton's catalogue model. Was better as a reporter. But I suppose he would be better than the BBC1 bores Huw Edwards and Darren Jordon.
Tim Willcox should have his own slot instead of Amroliwala.
I have to admit it's about time that Jon got moved to a more 'prime time' slot although I still think he's best on Breakfast because he, like Bill Turnbull, can get serious news across appropiately but also can be incredibly relaxed on lighter news story which fits the style that Breakfast needs.
Also is there any other way where I can recieve N24 because my Sky Box lost N24 transmission in November, and my area doesn't have cable or freeview?
Perhaps Jane will move to a less high-profile slot ready to replace Anna in the coming months on the one? (i dont think anna will last out too much longer on the ojne, her voice seems to be croaky all the time). I think it may also be part of a plan to get a more regular shift pattern going on at breakfast, and give Darren more time on the 10 or 6. Therefore, I think the whole change at news 24 could see Matthew and Jane present twice a week on N24 and the following shifts on BBC1.

What other channels has your Sky box lost?
The BBC channels are free-to-air (you don't even need a Sky receiver to get them - other digital satellite receivers will work) - so unless your LNB has failed, or your card has become corrupted somehow, there is no reason to lose N24 on its own.
You have done the obvious things, like powering down the box etc.
Is this a proposed rota, or is it just a ' This is how I would have it. ' ?
I like the idea of Darren on the Ten, but Matthew Amroliwala ? I like Maxine Mawhinney too, but I think she needs a bit more exposure before being part of the BBC1 team.

It's lost no more channels just N24. I tried all the obvious things and it's not come back.
What exactly is the LNB?
