well, whoever they rotate out, i hope its the uninspiring collection of regional news standard female presenters Joanna Gosling, Carrie Gracie, Liz Pike and Gwenan Edwards. Jane Hill is excellent, and they should get in Susan Osman on a permanent basis. Also give Gillian Ni Cheallaigh her own slot and bring back Martine Croxall. BBC News have some excellent female presenters, but aint employing them effectively... Mishal is back soon, and they should bring in people like Anita MacNaught and Martine Dennis from World.

Furthermore (whilst I am on a roll), Stephen "Click" Cole, Adrian Finighan, Dobbster and Willcox should all be given a permanent slot, and Mr Yates should be moved to a more prominent role.

i wonder when Mishal Husain will be back on World or News 24....

Not long Marc. Mishal will be returning to World next month

It's a shame she's going back to World - I thought that she was great on Breakfast. Even if she were to be on News24 would be better.

I hope World will place her back on the Washington bulletins, replacing Mike Embley.

Great news for World viewers at least. Smile

Regarding Jane and Matthew - Why the hell fix something if it aint broke. This pairing are probably the best on the channel. They totally compliment each other and have developed that slot into their own. In my opinion, no-one does it better. Even though Jon Sopel has come on leaps and bounds, I still find him a little wooden. As for Matthew, heavens knows what he'd gonna do without Jane at his side. The only other presenter he seems perfectly as ease with is LIz Pike. Perhaps he'll move to Jon's slot and Jon to his.

Yes, i completly agree, but Steven "click" Cole would proberly be working on Click anyway, and I have seen him do World. I would like him do News24 more though.

Well splitting up Matthew and Jane is the worst idea, they are a great pairing, and have been for a few years now. It is brilliant when they have one of the business presenters in ( I forget her name ), but they all get on very well.

Here's a clue for you - two "couples" will stay the same, one remaining at their usual shift, the other moving a bit.

Excuse me barging into all this speculation, but (having not seen much N24 for a while), I've got a question about the 1/4 past/to Coming Up aston.

Noticed at 13.46 that under the main 'Coming Up' strap, the black strap had a ticker-like repeated bbc.co.uk/news24 as its only content. Has it been like that for a while? I'm sure I've never seen it do that before.

Yeah, its been there for some time now. It's use depends on the topics been covered and hence isn't a fixed feature.
It was originally introduced with a White aston and no scrolling text and didn't fit, so after a little play its now red, animated and fits with the tower.
Although having said all that I do prefer the generic "BBC News" one, seen overhere on the overnight service. It instead takes up the whole space and has the corners aninated with the "swirals" (the best way I can describe it)
Hope that helps.
