That's him! Anybody else think he's a superb newsreader? I thought he went really well with Jane Hill. Does anybody know if he is joining BBC News 24 full time or just filling in?

World Business Report has just started on N24 - not seen it before, the music's a bit dramatic isn't it! What studio is London from?

It's still down as Business Today on the Freeview EPG.

The WBR music has remained intact since c.1998. I think it is wonderful. It's one of the only parts remaining from the flags era of BBC World.

The set in London is in the BBC World newsroom. It's the set which is also used for The World, Sport Today and, of course, WBR.

Ah! Never knew that as I've never seen BBC World (living in the UK as I do!)

So News 24 broadcast WBR an hour later, why not show it live, with News 24 doing the headlines to plug the gap.

I didn't realise WBR's music is from that era, it sounds just as good today as it always has.

BTW has Business Today been axed, if so why?

They did do the headlines halfway through, I presume they have adverts during the programme when shown on BBC World?

harshy - Yes, Business Today has been axed. The aim is to cost-cut. That's also the reason why WBR is recorded - otherwise, they'd just be replacing one live programme with another. There would be no savings.

Moz - You're right, BBC World take a break in between the two stings.

Well now that they don't need to use the summary pod before & after BT, as they did, and they don't do summaries from there anymore, is it now only used during Dateline London?

I'd now support the suggestions that they lose this area totally now and instead go for a newsroom camera position which could be used when the main desk is being readied, or for other features.

god if you listen to it it *is* flags music isn't it. Obviously world's business unit is not run by the tinkering morons who insist on wrecking the music on the actual news.
