I see BBC N24 are yet again showing absolutely no news judgement by downplaying the Fathers4Justice protest at Westminster. It's actually quite funny because they can't decide whether not to show this as there is an edict not to publicise stunts such as these, or whether it is a major breach (yet again) of security. In the end they end up doing neither angle right.
Who would watch BBC N24 for rolling news when you can get all the information and make your own mind up watching Sky? Doesn't the BBC know its constantly PC approach is killing it?

More people than would watch Sky, that's who!

How's it killing it exactly? It's ratings are climbing. The BBC is the most respected news organisation in the world. It must defend this reputation which has been built up over 80 years by using good judgement. The likes of Sky and Fox just show anything without regard for what effect it may have.
That's a new feature that was one of the 'minor tweaks' that started on Monday. At the BOTH, the News 24 sting leads into the Presenter in the summary pod, who goes straight into a summary. The headline bed plays underneath, and the news stories are interspersed by a few frames of the 24 Spinning Globe. Looks neater and works better, keeping up the pace of the channel quite well.
It's a pity the background to the split screen still isn't animated though. Sky, ITVNC and CNN all seem to have animated background graphics whereas News 24 has a static image. They could slow down or adapt the ribbons & globe animation used between the TOTH headlines for this purpose, would give the channel a more polished look and allow them to keep up with the Jones's.
What changes could be made to the current News 24 schedule? What new programmes or news shows could they introduce to rival channels like Sky News? Give your ideal N24 schedule.

Maybe one day people will see the light and decide that Ruperts' version of global news is not the unbiased, investigative journalism that we have become accustomed to from the BBC and up to now ITN. If they were honest they would just call it SunTv or News of the screws TV

...or don't. Such things are mind-numbingly boring to read. Most people I'd guess read this thread to keep up on changes and developments on N24, not to trawl through endless pages of bizarre hypothetical presenter line-ups.
Have to agree with Matrix about the titles, the BBC are capable of producing graphics much better than the current News 24 titles, which have not fared well with age and were not all that great in the first place. N24 Tonight and even Newyddion show what the titles could be like.

I agree completely. However, News 24 seems to have a become a better channel than its sister concern - BBC World, which has really hit a pathetic low. Even Martin Anderson's mock of Sky News is far superior to what BBC World has.

Yes I think if people were to see what BBC World has become, then people here would appreciate BBC News 24 more.
