Well one of the changes is at 7pm - see the other thread ... a few other minor tweaks elsewhere ...

Oooh, Simon to take over 9-1?

I was interested by the fact that Phil Hayton hasn't been on since last Sunday. (incidentally Tim Willcox did his shift all through last week, then Saturday night until midnight, then the poor man back in this morning at 9)

I'd like to think it would be Tim who got the call for it, but they could get Simon to do it , however he has the commitment of Breakfast, as does Kate Silverton at the moment.

Interesting...

By the way, fans of Big Al Yates should turn on N24 now, he's doing Phil Hayton's slot today. (Imagine if he got it full time? Very Happy )

So do we know if Phil has been moved to another shift, dumped or has left? Will be a shame if this is true. I know he isn't one of their most vibrant presenters, but he really knows his stuff and I have often enjoyed watching him on Sunday afternoons over the last four years or so. Crying or Very sad

I agree that he isn't the most interesting newsreader around but he does work so much better on his own, especially in the Sunday slot. Maybe he will replace Peter Sissons on the weekends - hopefully.

I thought Phil was a kinda institution. If he has left News 24, I really look forward to him coming back to the single-headed news presentation on BBC World. He would be suited to that.

In fact, he would make an ideal replacement for Eades and Jessel!!!
