I think the countdown will be scapped and replaced by Doiley reading the countdown out in the style of 60s bondesq movies.

My username refers to the Sky Digital platform and NOT Sky News. I dont like Sky News and i never watch it !!!

News 24 is to launch a daily 'best of' programme showing highlights of the BBC’s news output from across all its tv platforms.

Presented by Jane Hill and Chris Eakin, News 24 Tonight will go out every week night between 7 and 8pm. The 60 minute programme, edited by Marek Pruszewicz, starts on September 26.

It will draw on the One and Six O'clock News bulletins, Breakfast, BBC World and from the BBC's Regional and National newsrooms in the UK.

News 24 editorial director Mark Popescu said: ‘Viewers will now know exactly where to find a comprehensive round-up of the day's top stories from the bulletins and the best of the BBC's coverage from around the nations and regions.’

I'd like to think that Tim Willcox will get a permenant slot of his own, the man deserves it.
