I've asked in the requests forum, but no-one seems to know -
Re: Sportsday -

Does anyone know the name of the track / artist of the music that they used to play at the start of Sportsday (before they rebranded it a couple of months ago)? I've heard it used on quite a few trailers on other channels since. Thanks.

At a wild guess, I'd say the people who read this forum are also the same people who read the Requests forum. If you haven't had an answer, it probably means nobody knows. Please keep music requests to the designated Requests forum. Thanks.

Its the same people who view the requests forum that also view this forum. If they dont know in there, i doubt they will in here. Try emailing the BBC. They are usually pretty good at responding to emails.

It's not used on "He's Having a Baby". That's a different track entirely.

Jon Sopel doing a fantastic job in Gulfport tonight. Was really surprised to see him there so soon! News 24's coverage of Katrina and the aftermath has been excellent all week.

It's certainly interesting to see them there before a certain other news channel.

Presumably they're a little bit more on their toes having been twatted on the tsunami story, the London bombings, and a few others recently.

Surprised Sky haven't sent any of their presenters out yet, but with the situation as it is - disease, flooding, looting, shooting - you have to wonder whether any of the journalists really want to be there!

it's interesting both Bill Turnbull there for the Six and Jon Sopel for News 24/World ... I even think Newsround have people on the way. Surprised like cat that Sky havne't got anyone there. Some people in the office saying they've not been great on covering the Hurricane ... can't really comment as I've not seen enough. BBC have the help of being able to use ABC trucks but Fox must have them there as well.

They've had Andrew Wilson there since the weekend, and I've just seen Greg Milam in Louisiana, but no presenters as yet.

Jeremy Thompson would be the obvious choice, given that he was one of their US correspondents for a long time, and is their main on-location anchor.

Their coverage, from what I've seen, has been just as good as any of the other networks. The reporting during the storm was pretty impressive, and they managed to get Wilson up to do some lives during the middle of it.

It is surprising that nobody has been sent out, but then it's taken about three days to become clear what's going on down there. US networks haven't gone all out on the story in the same way as September 11, just because it lacks the instantaneous impact.

I suppose it has not come at the best of times for Sky with the relaunch, but going by their usual standards it's not been all that impressive.
