Who was presenting with Chris Eakin last night? I recognise her as a reporter but can't remember her name. Not seen her presenting N24 before.

Interesting Jane Hill was on earlier in the afternoon yesterday with Jon. She's been busy - on Monday she did the 6 then did her usual N24 stint from 7

Did Janet do a good job? She was reporting on the Piano Man story IIRC.

Janet Barrie I thought was quite dull, dry and boring. As Jane and Jon are doing the 4-7pm shift - who will be doing the 7-10.30pm shift?

Also, when does Louise Minchin come back?

in an unprecedented move, Deborah MacKenzie is paired up... with Chris Eakin for the 1900-2300 shift. so far they dont seem to be interacting with one another... let's see if this changes by the end

has Debz been part of a pairing before?? Usually see her alone thats all...

Just a geeky observation...

News 24 were using the 'textured' red and blue business astons instead of the normal ones for the first 20 minutes or so after 9 this morning before reverting to the usual ones.

There.

Jane's on again at 16.00 today. I can understand why on Tuesday because she was presenting the One but I wonder why she's not presenting her own shift.

Nerd.

I think it's time to see a little tweak or two to the supers used on N24. The Tower is okay, especially with the animating globe/map used for locations on some OBs, but it's just starting to look a teeny bit stale now on the main graphics. They never seem to do anything with the astons for special coverage any more either. Under the pre-2003 graphics set, they'd change the title bar, even have "story logos" on the info text area, such as with 9/11-related coverage, and the highly irritating 'Iraq War' logo that popped up constantly.

It would be nice to see something a little more adventurous - perhaps a 'textured' background to the standard red graphics (à la WBR), or a slightly different animation style. The Breaking News graphic in particular needs to be changed - perhaps to red-on-white. Getting rid of the horrific baby-blue that's crept in on the ticker masthead and some Fact File graphics would also help. More creative graphics for sport/Sportsday coverage wouldn't go amiss either.

Actually, while I'm on that, who on earth signed off on the Sportsday titles? They're utterly hideous. Sort it out!

Good gracious, I'm getting quite worked up about this now. I must go and lie down now, I'm feeling a little queer.
