Whatever happened to all those things we were promised in the new year from BBC News?

- new presenter rota on N24
- pool of presenters for the 1 & 6
- new weather forecast

Nothing's changed apart from a new piece of kit which makes the globe spin faster and gives smoother text rendering and orange has left us for black.

Keep watching...I think the new presenter rota for News 24 will be starting soon. I was told the month it was to start, but I forget exactly when now. Might have been March or April.

Well remember one of those things was completed wild speculation on some people's part. One of the things happens in a week or so.

Daniel Corbet, never failing to disapoint!
I was only the other day wondering when these new graphics for the weather would come in. I presume from here then Monday should be a day to watch.

"Pool of presenters" - Whats all the about! (Northern accent of course!)

It was raised that a new presenter line-up would a appear, on a slightly related note, the Director of BBC News happened to mention on Newswatch about a month ago that News24 would be adopting a more international/compact approach, Just wondering if this has or is going to be trialed out sometime soon?

Breakfast, Breakfast, Breakfast. Tut-tut! I given up trying to like Natasha and Dermot combo

Couple of weeks for one of them

There's been some absolutely shocking camera work on N24 this morning covering the Prime Minister's speech in Gateshead. Random close-ups on knees, rapid zoom-in/out on the PM, camera pointing in the wrong direction, and some really bad "creative" camera angles.

Very poor.

I know this has nothing to do with current discussion, but I thought I would add this picture of the first News 24 studio.

Very poor.

I wonder which company is supplying the pictures from the conference hall?

I know the footage from the main party conferences in the autumn is provided by BowTie TV, who make the Daily Politics and are the contractors for the coverage of Parliament.

Yesterday during the PM's Q&A session the picture went very weird and on Sky News David Foster apologised for the problems with the pictures which were coming from "one of our colleagues in the broadcasting industry".

Sky News must have taken the same feed.

And did anyone notice that youngish guy behind the Prime Minister almost doze off on a couple of occasions.
