Has anyone else seen the new BBC News promotions on News 24. It shows people using BBC.co.uk and watching News 24, then finishes off with "BBC News, on TV, Radio and Online."

Hmm, sneakily similar to "Five Live, on AM, on Digital and Online".

And "BBC London, on TV, On Radio and Online"

The ticker looks perfectly fine on bbc world when they have the transparent logo. We this being used during other programme every fifteen minutes. Its fine, I personally wouldnt tweak it.

Maybe the ticker is slightly different on world. On N24, if the ticker ever animates on-screen before the logo, you can see two 'wings' pointing upwards where the logo is supposed to cover them. This is what I would tweak ie: just remove the 'wings' so its just a clean rectangle under the translucent logo.

The BBC World ticker is a clean rectangle while News 24 has as you put it "wings", I think someone actually needs to sort out the World ticker as it's meant to be 3D.

Heres a little mock showing what it looks like on bbc world, but ive made it bbc news 24. I personally dont see anything wrong with it.

It has been 'sorted out' - it was deliberately changed from 3D to 2D so it would work when used with the 'watermark' version of the World tower.

I've never seen this BBC World tower watermark. I thought they used a top left linear logo like BBC Four. When do they use the watermark tower?

During pre-recorded programming. All live N9 output uses the proper tower.

Clock?

couch_potato
Is it not about time that the News 24 presenter index on the website got updated? The presenters listed are those that have been with the news channel for several years but they could do with adding newcomers like Tim Willcox, Kate Silverton, Karin Giannone etc.

Anyone else agree?

He was showing what it looks like on BBC World with a News 24 logo (World has no clock). Smile

Yes... I know that WORLD has no clock, but I assumed that he was showing a mock for what N24 could look like with a translucent logo. If he was just trying to show what it looks like on WORLD, why didn't he just use the WORLD logo instead of putting N24 on instead?

clock would ideally go in place of the urkl which is not needed

They do need to update their presenter index, couch_potato. Presenters who are on all the time like Tim Willcox need to be on there.

kate Silverton does have a profile, accessible from the Breakfast website.

Stephen Cole is presenting this afternoon. "Coming up, the best technology programme on worldwide television, if I do say so myself...Click Online"
