The amusing thing about the Talking Movies promo is the bloke at the top of it, walking down the street saying "This week on Talking Movies".
I think the top of every Talking Movies promo for the last eighteen years has been identical.
And before the pedantic wierdos, and new moderators, tell me that the programme hasn't been on for eighteen years, I was using a tad of exaggeration just to re-inforce my point.

Speaking of Talking Movies, for some time I've been confused by the use of that strange animation they now use at the beginning of all the trailers for it - the one which has some kind of "eclipse" effect in the background with

in the middle. It has no link to any of the presentation on the programme itself, nor to any other BBC News presentation. When I first saw it, I assumed it was a prelude to a relaunch of the programme, but the same dreadful look has persisted, from the ghastly opening theme through to the even more offensive, ultra-blurry graphics used within the programme that don't line up with either the N24 Tower or the translucent WORLD logo used during recorded programming.
It's about time they sorted the look of that programme out.

Thats a good idea.
N24 should use a translucent logo like World's during recorded programming. I know the ticker wouldn't suit it too well but it could be tweaked. The normal logo is far too conspicuous on its own without any other graphics.

Well, why not simulcast BBC World News on News 24 at 1, 6 and 10 o'clock?

The ticker looks perfectly fine on bbc world when they have the transparent logo. We this being used during other programme every fifteen minutes. Its fine, I personally wouldnt tweak it.

There would be some difficulties in simucasting BBC World News. The main problem would be a rights issue for some of the images used within the stories - The BBC may not have the UK rights or the non-UK rights for the images. This would pose a particular problem with sports images.
Before people mention I know there is are simulcasts between 1am and 6am. But you may notice these bulletins have a different feel to the regular BBC World programming.

Maybe the ticker is slightly different on world. On N24, if the ticker ever animates on-screen before the logo, you can see two 'wings' pointing upwards where the logo is supposed to cover them. This is what I would tweak ie: just remove the 'wings' so its just a clean rectangle under the translucent logo.

Has anyone else seen the new BBC News promotions on News 24. It shows people using BBC.co.uk and watching News 24, then finishes off with "BBC News, on TV, Radio and Online."

Hmm, sneakily similar to "Five Live, on AM, on Digital and Online".
Or even "BBC London: On TV, on radio, online". Seems they're copying each others' catchphrases!
