I was expecting Dermot too.
Yes it is the first time she's presented. She's been getting about a bit recently, News 24 last week, the Ten this.
Incidentally it's the first time that another woman (i.e. other than Fiona) has presented the Ten post 2003 (excepting one occasion during the General Election campaign last year when Sian presented in the studio with Huw at Westminster).

Actually Jane Hill often presents the Ten branded sunday news

In fact, it is probably even longer ago than that, as Fiona was the only female presenter appearing on the 10 during the Buerk/Sissons era as well IIRC. Possibly the only the second woman to appear on the 10 ever? (Unless Anna ever did it)

Sorry, meant to say Ten O'Clock News on weekdays (excluding Bank Holidays). I wasn't counting the late evening news on Sundays 'Ten branded' as it is as it is still a shorter weekend bulletin usually presented by the same presenter who has presented the early evening bulletin.

Indeed, Natasha seemed entirely competent on the 10, indeed I think she did an excellent job.
Many associate Natasha with the "dumbing down" of the 6, but it seems to me that patronising George Alagiah is the main culprit. Natasha's performances on the single-headed bulletins, and the improvement in the 6 when presented by Bill, Jon or Dermot, only serve to add weight to this assertion.

Anna did do a "Ten" - albeit a bank holiday edition.
Just proves that Natasha is so much more competent with a lack of, or with a decent, male presenter.

Indeed she was fairly good on News 24 last week too.
