Philip Cobbold - just out of interest, how did you get that signature?

It's a capture from the behind the scenes section on the BBC News 50 DVD and then edited with my name on it.

Ok. Just wondered. Very Happy

Does UK Today still run on BBC? I saw some clips of the program on a website.

No, it was previously used as a replacement for regional news programmes on BBC One on Sky when there was just one version of the channel broadcast in England. When regional programming started becoming available (initially as an interactive option via the red button) UK Today was abandoned.

No its Dermot, Fiona, Natasha and Bill and apparently a few others are joining in as well - presumably to do something else though...might be like in recent years where you've had two performances linked to each other...

Yep - see the News 24 thread.

I see that the BBC News homepage has had another slight tweaking. The main story is in much bigger font and in bold, taking over a large space of the top homepage. Looks a lot better. It now makes readers aware of what the main story is as 3 or 4 headlined stories were cluttered about.

It's been used for a while, but is only put up for big stories. It's been discussed on here before now (but can't find the thread), and the change is also covered in the second section of this page on the Beeb site.

Amanda Farnsworth's Working Week - a week in the life of the editor of the Six. Worth a read.

Quite interesting. I never realised how tight they run the programme sometimes, for example going in to the introduction and still uploading a report. I always thought that everything was done well before in advance except for the breaking stories.
