Can anyone tell me if the BBC provides signed photos of news presenters upon request? I once got one of Katie Derham from ITV several months after my request, any chance the beeb do it too, or does it smack too much of the cult of personality?

Looks like Peter Sissons for the teatime news today - and a special bulletin for Scotland at 5:40pm.

Doesn't Peter Sissons normally do the 13.00-19.00 shift on N24 as well on a Saturday? Who was presenting instead of him on N24?

Peter Sissons is doing the 10 (well the 10.05)

Peter Sissons - what a truly great newscaster - wasted on N24.

He should certainly be brought back for the Ten! On this note, why has Darren Jordan been presenting the Ten recently, noted that he presented the One and the Ten on the same day?

And Sian presented the One early this week - she was rather good, gave the bulletin a different feel.

Quite good to see Darren Jordon on the Ten, he really is wasted on the One. I would rather see him on the Ten with Fiona.

I think Peter should be back on mainstream bulletins, but I doubt it will happen.

Does anyone know what Michael Buerk is doing? When he left he said he was going back to reporting, but I haven't seen him reporting since he left. He has occassionally fronted the Ten since he left, and he was good on Breakfast during the summer of 2003.

Peter ummmmm Simpson ummmmm, sorry, Sissons, urrrrghhh, what ummm a truly umm newscaster...

Yeah, right! He's good reading an autocue but throw a piece of breaking news at him and he crumbles. Newsreaders aren't wasted on N24, they need to be better and more highly skilled to be able to present a live, and sometimes unscripted programme for hours on end.

Hence why he should be back on BBC1. He's no good on N24, but has been brilliant on BBC1 for years.

I don't think he meant reporting, as in filing reports for news programmes, more sort of journalisitc/presenter/investigative style things like the interview with Pamela Anderson etc.

He was indeed *fab* on Brekkie in 2003, last year there was little summer season presenter changes because of the alternating female presenters at the time. Hopefully will be back this year.

I've discovered that Michael Buerk will be 59 this year. He retired quite young! For such a good newsreader he should have stayed right up to his retirement age, which I'm presuming is 65 years old. Look at Peter Sissons and Anna Ford - in their 60s and still going strong!

Why is there a special bulletin for Scotland?
