New presenter on the One today. The BBC News Player says, "Fiona Hill presents the BBC One O'Clock News".
Never heard of her before. Interestingly she looked exactly like Jane Hill.

Isn't it true that yesterday was Anna Ford's birthday thus meaning that she is now at retirement age and may now permanently leave?

Well she may permanently leave but she was 62 yesterday, she reached retirement age (60 for a woman) two years ago. Isn't her contract up for renewal in January?
As posted on the ITN and Sky threads, has anyone noticed that all duty anchors this evening on all UK news channels are dressed soberly in black obit style clothing?
Turnbull and Raworth were both in black on BBC Six. Nightingale and Austin were both in black on ITN 6.30. Burley and Wilson were both in black on Sky News (Andrew Wilson was even wearing a black tie). And now Anna Botting has turned up on Sky also in black.
Maybe a freaky coincidence, but maybe they all know something that we don't.
On reflection that was actually more a case of salt with extra lemon juice and gravel - sorry!
Why is this women allowed, so blantly to roam TV Centre and why, may I ask is she so highly valued. I am of course talking of Kaplinsky... Who else.
I personally think there are far more talented members of BBC News who could easily fill her boots.
Could we now have a new Hayton in Geogre? (Everythings crossed)
