On the subject of Kate Silverton in Basra - anyone got any opinions on that. Seems an odd choice of reporter/correspondant to dispatch to Iraq......


It could improve her stature as a reporter ........if she makes it back.

They could send some of the other lady lightweight newsreaders off to the other war zones for longer assignments to see how they manage.

well...i like natasha too but even I think it's time she got sent on a few overseas assignments and did some N24 stints. No-one should be paid to sit day in day out in the security of a newsroom but the reality is she's just a 'newsreader' rather than a journalist

What a silly comment above. Do you think nobody should be paid to sit in the security of a regular office then? Should we only be paid for dangerous jobs? At the end of the day she's a newsreader, she does it well and that's the end of it.
