If you turned over to BBC News Channel, the camera was on Huw for about 3 minutes whilst he just sat there pretending to write things and posing with his arms!! It was hilarious!!! Until someone said get ready, then he got into his usual opening position with his left arm outstretched!! Haha!!!

Was flicking between the two channels, quite hilarious!

busy finishing the cross word!

The breakdown was almost seven minutes long.. http://tvnewsroom.org/funnies/bbc-news-ten-breakdown-20-june-2017-175751

Well the BBC One announcer handled that like one on ITV would have done, rather than apologising for the fault, like one of the old timers would have done, she just robotically launched into reading a menu as if it was a normal feature.

Perhaps a menu and script were more readily available than the apology caption?

Ugh, they need to change that breakdown music. Incredibly dated in a porno sort of way.

Would you prefer this former Ceefax track? Laughing

Wink

But yeah, some production library music from this side of 2010s will do.

Biazare that it seems that the thunderclap wouldn't play unless it had the breaking news sting before it. That item wouldn't usually be anywhere near a BBC One news running order.

Did all the region's just stay on the ident forever and just see a brief second of Huw before the menu appeared? I thought it was my region who had an issue at first and were unable to opt back in.

Problems at the moment on the NC. It cut to Huw very early, and then cut to a Breaking News strap and a still image. BBC1 now showing a still caption as well.

As for the regions: BBC One Scotland stayed and London continuity going through the list of tomorrow's evenings schedule came on. The News Channel was left with repeated occasions of the "Breaking News" caption, and urgent sound effect for it. This initially appeared on BBC One Wales until it joined the very end of the London continuity, literally catching a couple of words of the London continuity's voice and then the London-produced breakdown message. News Channel keeps repeating "Breaking News" loudly on screen and a random image of a different story after each one, and then long images of Huw at the desk remaining silent. BBC One Northern Ireland had part with repeated Breaking News stings at the start, then left to its own continuity "I'm sorry we seem to be having some sort of issue here with the BBC News at Ten. Please bear with us and we'll get back to it as soon as we can", with music and BBC One Northern Ireland on-screen, eventually joining when Huw started the programme at 10.04.

The programme ended at 10.35 with another apology from Huw: not clear whether the schedule is now running five minutes late, due to the late start, as the programme may have already been due to end at 10.35 (it sometimes runs slightly longer than the published schedule) or they may, indeed, now be slightly late.
