The ticker and lower thirds are added downstream of the studio, which means that BBC One, News Channel and World can all take the output of the same studio with different graphics styles.

But I think these days the UK gets the same back half hour as World since the last round of cuts.

Well Newsday is on an hour early!

I guess that's the end of the News Channel output for the rest of the night now! It seems like these are quite bad technical problems!

It's not, as Babita is doing a special News Channel programme. I suspect Clive could have moved to the World studio and presented the half hour but it was probably just easier to stick with Babita.

Actually, when they changed the time the channels come together to midnight in June 2015, they stopped the Asia Buisness Report and Sport Today editions (except the one at 1:30am and 1:45am) and replaced them with different half hour programmes, including Today in Parliament from BBC Parliament.

Seeing as she's in Studio C already and doesn't usually have anything on air to do, it makes sense to just stick with her after the headlines (which she'll do anyway).

They've clearly got issues with their spell checker, blooper-gate is clearly rubbing off...

Viewers tuning in to the BBC's New's at 10 were left bemused as the programme suffered a technical malfunction.

Does Rico usually give a special welcome to UK viewers on Newsday? The first hour I could understand as it's normally World News only.

I think we have a competitor for most bloopers within 10 minutes. Now, would that be an award to be proud of or embarrassed of?

And Rico Hizon knows he's going out in the UK an hour early.

Just like Huw Edwards knew he was on air (on the News Channel) even though at least a couple of the tabloids claim he wasn't. Not sure about Rico as he seemed to get his time mixed up barely 24 hours before - when the News Channel joined on Monday night, he said it was 8 o'clock in Singapore when on-screen said it was 7 o'clock (I concluded the on-screen time was the correct one).
