Even in the world of weather apps there is still definitely a place for a national forecast.

As some forecasters like to point out, app forecasts are computer generated and are often not very accurate, or in many cases too precise meaning you get extremes of weather from hour to hour and people expect that to happen. TV forecasts but the weather into context and explain why the weather is going to occur in the way it is.

If only there was a BBC channel showing a national weather forecast at least once per hour, often twice Smile

That said the BBC Weather app ought to have links to stream the latest regional and national TV forecasts.

We almost had an extended Ten there, I almost thought they were deliberately waiting until 10:25 to start the press conference!

Will be interesting to see if the BBC Three programming gets a lower rating as a result.

Holby City fans are angered and annoyed that their show has been postponed just because of the Brexit vote. Why couldn't BBC 2 have aired the live vote and BBC 1 continued on with prime time as normal?

Are they? Have you asked them all?

My mother wasn't happy that Holby wasn't on, but found something else to watch on catch-up instead after EE.

Because an enormous news story breaking and BBC1 ploughing on with normal programmes looks rubbish.

As I've said before, 99% of the time people complain that normal schedules are rubbish and boring and say they should drop everything, and then when anything gets dropped apparently everyone is devastated and they shouldn't have done it.

Social media and OTT newspaper reports make this phenomena much worse than it ever used to be.

In years gone by you would have Sharon and Julie having a little moan by the water cooler the next day. In 2019 we have hordes of people taking to Twitter and Facebook to complain about it which then feeds the likes of the Daily Express, Daily Mail etc with their OTT stories. Just Google "holby city cancelled" this morning...

Daily Express posted:
Holby City spoilers: ‘P****d off’ Viewers furious as show CANCELLED last minute

HOLBY CITY fans were left in turmoil this evening as the fallout of the crossover with Casualty did not air due to the result of Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit vote, with EastEnders pushed to the medical drama’s time slot.

Daily Star posted:
Holby City fans outraged as show cancelled in schedule shake-up

HOLBY City fans were left fuming after tonight's episode was cancelled last minute.

I mean, really?

Indeed. Though, as a totally philosophical point the BBC have goozodles of bandwidth and playout facilities available to them, that allow for multiple different programmes and content to be shown simultaneously.

Last night two sets of HD and three sets of SD TV bandwidth were showing essentially the same thing.

Perhaps it was a mistake gifting them a second national TV channel in 1964 Cool

Sadly they'll be more complaints about the schedule changes than the utter shambles of a government we currently have.
