I thought ITV regional news had been pan-regional the last few weeks anyway. Did Tyne Tees and Border retain separate shows?

ITV News West Country reverted to split bulletins I think in early May.

I’m very new to this and live in central Scotland so unfortunately I have stv and not itv but I do know itv does actually broadcast in Scotland for the border region how far up does it go? And do they have separate news shows for Scotland and England or are they the same but With opt outs?

The two ITV Border transmitters are Caldbeck, and Selkirk.

Selkirk is in SE Scotland,

Caldbeck is in North Cumbria, but transmits three English PSB muxes, and three Scottish ones. Border ITV is on both versions of PSB2, I don't know whether they have separate programmes for Scotland, they used to in analogue times

Are the Scottish muxes broadcast directionally from Caldbeck or do they have the same footprint as the English ones?

As part of the current Channel 3 licences, ITV is required to show programmes for Border Scotland.

Ahead of the launch in 2014, a technical change was made in November 2013, splitting the feeds on Freeview.

In 2014, Border Life and Representing Border were launched as opt-outs to the main ITV network schedule to fill the required Border Scotland quota. Finally, ITV Border Scotland was added to satellite in 2015.

Here's the updated version of the Selkirk map:

The Scottish muxes are directional I believe
DV
DVB Cornwall West Country (West) Spotlight
Have to be, now at least, the demand for frequencies post 700Mhz clearance in the area must be significant.

I've just taken a look, apart from the Scottish PSB 3 moving from UHF 22 to 21, it's suffered no other changes (unlike just about all of its relays !)

It also had COM 7/8 close, that liberated UHF 32 and 35, for use at some of those relays. Unlike other COM7/8 sites that had to similarly liberate Ch30-something allocations, COM 7/8 ceased there (rather than move to 55/56)

They used to show various STV programmes such as Scotsport but the only STV programmes they show now are things like leaders debates. When Ofcom forced them to show more programming for the Scottish part of the region there was speculation they’d just show STV longer late night bulletin but they either they didn’t want to so that (or STV would’ve charged too much) or it wouldn’t have been particular enough to the Border Scotland region.

I suspect if ITV and STV were the same company I suspect Ofcom would have altered the franchises in the same way they did for the former Wales and West region.

Do they not show Scotland tonight? That’s more of a whole Scotland based show rather than just the stv region although during the pandemic stv seems to have focused a lot more on Glasgow even me living in the east I’ve noticed it so might be more noticeable to people in the south
