And the tennis lasted a grand total of 15 minutes - and it was blatantly obvious it was going to be over by 7pm before they switched channels.

The BBC made their decision at 6pm to move it to BBC2 as scheduled and should have stuck with it, only moving it back to BBC1 if it was continuing beyond 7pm. Or alternatively if BBC1 really wanted the tennis, they should have stuck with it at 6pm and pushed the news back to when it concluded, whenever that might have been.

I guess it's an improvement from last year when they attempted to put the regional news onto BBC2.

Has anyone noticed whether Lyse Doucet has featured on the BBC One bulletins? I saw she filed for Breakfast over the past few days, but what seems to happen is that someone else, totally unknown files for the 1, 6 and 10.

The same happens when she's reporting from Afghanistan.

The 6 is coming from N6 this evening. Anyone know why?

Seem to remember that he did it sitting down when it last came from N6. I think that was the day that the BNP were on question time.

Will this knacker Newsnight & Breakfast?

Nope all been sorted... the 8pm tx'd ok... and Newsnight are happily rehearsing as I type...

What would have been the back up for both shows?

Breakfast presumbly N6, but would Bill & Sian have gone through until 930 on the NC?

Newsnight, I'm guessing either N9 or Westminster!

They might have shorted breakfast until 9am like Sundays or on bank holidays but I suppose that would have mucked up the schedule for bbc 1 for the rest of the morning.

I'm sure if it had looked like there would have been a problem last night they would been able to find some sort of filler programme to fill around 15 minutes.

With BBC Red Button News updates becoming an out-of-vision service, and with Tasmin Lucia Khan moving to Daybreak, would it be possible to use one presenter for E24, 60 Seconds and 8pm update? It would need some re-timing, but could be a way of saving money, considering most days Ellie Crisell appears to only present a 90 second update.
