Has the Sunday night 10pm bulletin now been moved to 10.30pm permanently, it is on at the later time next week as well. Not long ago the Sunday 10pm bulletin was quite high profile and some on here classed it as a proper '10' bulletin.

Well for the past 3 weeks it's been to make room for Wallander which is 90 mins long. To be honest, I don't know why they still bother branding it as a "10" - it's no different to any of the other weekend bulletins whatsoever IMO.

Then again, the Sunday bulletins seem to only ever be presented by 2 different newsreaders - compared with Saturday which has a variety of presenters. They seem to want to make the Sunday ones more organised for some reason, even though it isn't really.

I really wish they'd decide what they're calling the national bulletins. Today's evening bulletin was introduced by the announcer as "The Six o'clock News," yet we were welcomed by George to the "BBC News at 6," only for him to end saying he'd be back with the "BBC 's News at 10." This whole "brand-strengthening" tactic really doesn't seem to be working. I know it's arguably minor, but it's pretty annoying.

He also refers to the BBC News channel as 'The BBC's news channel. Surprised

Just as everyone said back in April 08. After 25 years or so of BBC Six O'Clock News (despite the brief 1999 - 2003ish of BBC News at Six), it will take some doing to change the name in people's minds.

I have to say, the whole "brand strengthening" campaign is a futile and pointless exercise. I sincerely hope nothing was spent on the renaming - that would be a diabolical waste of resources.

It matters not one jot whether you say "BBC News at 6" or "Six O'clock News on the BBC" - I'd bet several pounds that none of the audience notice or care one way or another,

If I'm talking to friends about something I've seen on the news, I only have to say "BBC" and everyone knows exactly what I mean.

Talk about inventing work for the marketing department.

Delayed News at 10 tonight because of football

BBC News at Ten delayed by 5 mins according to Chris Eakin, who has appeared at the top of the hour on the News Channel for ermm - 5mins. They're running with an Orla Guerin report which will no doubt be repeated in oooh, just under 15 mins.

Not very well thought out.

Good old BBC London giving us a extra glance of their title sequence - instead of a clip of a murder scene in their headline sequence.

He stayed there for the first two stories rather than just the opening sequence. I remember hearing an interview with Huw Edwards on Radio 2 when N6 was refitted in 2006 and the standing at the beginning started. Huw said the idea was they stand for the whole of the first story (so theoretically the whole programme if the story was big enough). George conducted a quick interview with Nick Robinson standing up tonight (related to the top story). Maybe this is why he stayed standing.

It looked a lot better with George standing up for a couple of stories - putting the Barco's in TC7 to good use. The bulletin seemed to have a bit more feeling to it as well. I hope this style is something they'll do more often.

I really do wish that they'd do some standing presentation on the news channel - I would say a bit more, but apart from the sport and business - thats it (except the weekend simulcasts when the news channel presenter is in the far corner and try and hide the fact they're standing up... why I don't know). In my view, standing up at the Barco's rather than being stucked behind a desk all the time - makes you feel a bit closer to the news. BBC World News does it, what's stopping the news channel doing it?

It's not like they haven't done it before on the news channel... they used to do it in N8 in the old days of News 24 2003 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrDNDQwzPhQ

Exactley, in fact the report into news 24 in 2003 said that they needed to have a bit more variety in how the news was delivered and that they should move away from an all desk based setup which they did with the 2003 set then took it away again in 2008.
