Is 'Deputy Political Editor' the new title for 'Chief Political Correspondent'? I hadn't heard it before tonight.

No. It's A new role that has been created for James Landale, Laura Kuennsberg has taken the role of Chief Political Correspondent.

I don't know about the others (I think they're done from another studio somewhere) but the Andrew Marr news update is from TC7. They have a green screen in the corner.

Well yes and no. As far as I understand it Laura Kuennsberg is going to be Chief Political Correspondent for what we used to know as News24 (The Guto Harri Memorial Job), NOT the BBC's Chief Political Correspondent (Mark Mardell's old job). The Deputy Political Editor job appears to be a replacement for that role.

That would make sense since whenever James Landale appeared on BBC1 in the past he was just referred to as political correspondent, not chief political correspondent

Who is that lady sitting at the green-screen in the photo above? I am having trouble placing her.

Why bother using green screen for the 9am, 10am and noon summaries when they have a studio fitted with Barco screens?

Surely it's easy enough just to project the usual NC background onto the screens in the part of the studio not being used for either the Andrew Marr Show or Politics Show on Sunday mornings.

James, I'm afraid such a high crime is grounds for instant dismissal from TV Forum. I'm sure you'll be hearing from the Forum Elders very soon.... Very Happy

I guess that could ruin wide shots - I think it's been said that changing the graphics on the Barcos is awkward so they would probably want to set the whole lot up before the show.
