I really don't think it's such a big deal. It would also cost quite a bit and there would be less network material available due to a reduced staff in England.
I was just suggesting it for when England has a bank holiday and Scotland doesn't

I suggest you join 'Itchy & Scratchy' with Andrew Neil at 11:35 on BBC One - that's live (apparently!)
What a shame that Question Time was pre-recorded tonight. Missed out on reacting to the Purnell resignation announcement at 10pm.

And an acknowledgement of such over the closing titles of QT.

The announcement over the end of Question Time was also subtitled which is quite rare. Viewers watching in the nations (either at the same time as network or delayed) will get the same subtitles but may not get the same/any announcement. I guess the subtitles will end up on Iplayer too, but the announcement probably won't.

I suppose they scrapped them for consistency (as well as the fact that millions of people would just get BBC London anyway) - if the tennis finishes by 6:30 then the regions are back on BBC One and the Six will presumably have a "proper" end rather than the usual handover.
The 6 is on BBC 2 tonight in order to keep the Roddick Murray match on BBC1, how did they get around the region opts? There weren't any.

Wonder how many regions have suitable announcements to use into their regional programme? Not that I think the tennis will have finished in time.
