I think the Six looks awful, especially compared to how good the rest of BBC News looks now. The background doesn't seem to have been designed to have the desk in the corner, resulting in a pretty boring bit of background behind George.

I'm sure with a little tinkering they could move it around if they really thought it necessary. I thought that they might have moved the desk centre, though I imagine there's a good reason for not.

Love how the regional continuity announcement still refers to the bulletin as 'The 10 O'Clock News' and Huw's 'at Ten' introduction, completely dropping any mention of BBC News, the key aspect of this rebrand.

Which region was that?

Sorry, NE & Cumbria.

I'd forgotten just how annoying Robert Peston's voice was until now.

The 10 looks quite good in this studio although the darkness of it doesn't really go too well with the graphics, I feel.

We got something like "This is BBC One in the South, now the BBC News with Huw Edwards and [regional presenter whose name escapes me!] It's 10 o'clock."

Sounded pretty good - like the days when we had the BBC One clock, and the announcer would give the time exactly as the second hand hit 12.

Remember Newsround & Newsnight use that studio, and they'd have to move the "baking trays" as well as the desk for that to work - and aren't they permanent? There needs to be a gap there for the AM/Politics Show split on Sundays.

Ah I presumed the baking trays were on wheels so that they could be moved around, hence the scuffed floors.

The problem in the Newsnight/Newsround/Six studio is that there are two rostra - and they're both huge. Even if they were on wheels - where would you put the one you weren't using? There is nowhere to put it - and no way of removing it... There isn't a gap big enough.

I must congratulate them on creating a real background that looks less authentic than News at Tens fake backdrop.

It annoys me, the frosted bit looks like a smear on glass that I just want to wipe off.
