I also wonder why have we a Gills Sans overload yet there is another font for the '1', '6' and '10'? ...it just does not make sense!

Because a "one" in Gill Sans would look dreadful... " I "

Erm, I think I have said that it is a mess full stop...but if you are unsure my thoughts on this - try the reference at the end of that post!! Wink

So its that N6 or TC7? They can't of changed desks in the 7secs of countdown they had on N24?

TC7. The 6 was always going to be in TC7.

So the whole "For the first time we're all coming from the same studio" of a few months ago is just gone? What is happening in N6 whilst TC7 is on air, how is still using two studios saving money!? Oh and 6 heads/titles on page 1.

Nice to know they can leave the 6 o'clock news should there be breaking news. But now is a good time for recording stand-up reports for the 10 O'Clock News

None the less, that's the reason why a Gill Sans 1 is not and has never been used for the titles, even in 1999, the 1 was modified to have the equivalent of the serif, or whatever the equivalent for numerals is called. IMO, the number in the titles is iconic at this stage, and looks fine.

Why doesn't the news channel have its ticker dog and clock. This is really shabby, the news channel should never loose its bottom third elements. Its not as if the National News' graphics are incompatible!

Umm I don't know which BBC News 24 you're watching...

Well, I don't know what BBC News 24 you're watching Smile

But, yeah, flicking to fkaN24 shows DOG & ticker present as per usual.

Why is it the regions can manage to put both presenters names aligned under them at the same time while BBC News can only do one and they align them under the presenter on the left.

How ugly does the box look here?

Surely it's not hard to get something like that right?

I think the Six looks awful, especially compared to how good the rest of BBC News looks now. The background doesn't seem to have been designed to have the desk in the corner, resulting in a pretty boring bit of background behind George.
