Remember the days in the late 80s and early 90s when an announcer boomed out "The Six o'clock News from the BBC with....and....." at the end of the titles. Now that was definitely a time when viewers sat up and took notice and there was no question of where this news bulletin was coming from.

Nice regional news promo about the summer floods (for points west) after points of view.... Just missed a capture!

Just seems to be a slagging match between Gavin and Martin at the moment I see.

Have viewers ever wondered where their news was coming from?

In London we had the one from a few months ago about the olympics but dubbed with the new music and endboard

The early evening news 'handover' was a bit of a farce today. Mishal finished her bulletin, to be joined by Chris Lowe on the news channel where they dipped into live footage of Bush arriving at Downing Street and chatted to someone on the live feed. Mishal ends the interview, we dip into live pictures of Bush arriving at Downing Street, that ends and suddenly Sophie Long appears with Chris, sounding almost as surprised and confused as I was.

This is really silly. Sophie or Chris could easily have presented the weekend bulletin, Mishal is hardly a big name on the Nationals anyway; she's far more attached to her World career, another Lyse Doucet if you like.

I am not arguing in favour or against the changes, just explaining the thinking behind them.

Whilst I don't like the idea of a return to a voice over saying "The Six O'Clock News, From the BBC", I do like the idea of putting Six O'Clock News on the titles, as it is the way you know the bulletins, and only say "The BBC News at Six O'Clock" when reffering to it in dialogue.

What went wrong? Had the summary already begun when presentation handed over to the news summary? Or did the summary just end either early or presentation weren't ready?

It's just pathetic, why are they having so many problems? It's really shabby. And why on earth did Kate walk off screen and cough, surely somebody is in the gallery telling her when it's clear to do so??

There's only one person in the gallery for the daytime summaries, so sometimes mistakes will happen.
