Interesting, the desk is not long enough. Perhaps they will shift to a single-presenter mode and will be using laptops rather than a desktop. But the BARCOs are quite far.

Seventeen days to see it all put together.

I'd love to know how you can tell that without seeing it front on. The perspectives in such wide panoramas always get messed up a bit. The desk will not have been an afterthought...

I presume the desk is the same as in World set which can and is used for double headed presentation in the early morning shift.

Hard to see it well in that photo. The orange background on the ''newswall'' part is different to World's red.

EDIT: I guess it is red but the lights are not turned on.

The bottom half is white when its on, like World's.

But the BARCOs are quite far.

I wonder how much more limited the NC will be with camera shots and angles than WN having all their cameras on a single track?

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread, but have a look at this photo of the newsroom, roughly the area which will form the News Channel's backdrop:

*

Am I mistaken or are those print-outs of control room screens taped to the rear wall? I've always thought it strange how solid black doors featured so heavily in the backdrop, it seems they've realised it doesn't look very good. I'm guessing they're planning to replace them with glass?

Are there not two tracks? Isn't the camera track behind the plasma separate from the track close to the central podium?

Wow, if it looks as good - or even better than that picture. It will be superb on screen. Very Happy

Perhaps those were the objects that seemed to look like monitors to the right of the big monitor on the right side if you are facing the newsroom.

It would have been good if 1 and N24 did what WN did which was to do a staggered transition into NBH (i.e. not transferring all in one go). In this case however, the 'nationals' should be piloting out of NBH first for a fortnight (1 will sport the new graphics whilst N24 will retain the existing). This should for that period eliminate the need to return to N8 for the half hour prior to the 10.

Not yet but word is that they will all move to NBH at the same time and not as originally planned where some of their services would move earlier in the month.
