The 3pm summary is back full stop (though it'll probably be dispensed with during Wimbledon fortnight). The regional bulletins make return from 2nd June.

Why did they scrap it? And now bring it back? Anyone know please.

Bloody good question. It's all very inexplicably random, isn't it? Confused

I still don't understand why they don't use the Breakfast backdrop when they're in N6. It strikes me as very strange that the programme is so much more formal (at a desk and looking like the news channel) at the weekend than in the week.

They scrapped it due to 'Out of the Blue' meaning there was no time available. They also reduced the regional news at 1.30pm to a 10 minute slot, although how long that bulletin lasts in practice may not have changed

Now 'Out of the Blue' is out of the schedule, they've got spare time again, 15 mins at 1.30pm, 5 mins at 3pm. I imagine they need to give the regions notice which is why their bit doesn't start until next week

Imagine my surprise to see this last night:
Banda Aceh or Burma?

Rather embarassing I would think. Has it had any mention within the UK?

It was - there was an on-screen apology on the national news when the error came to light.

Bit of a blunder on BBC One just now. The 11am news update went on air whilst rehearsals were still in progress!

We joined as a tape was being rewound (featuring the opening titles). Kate Silverton was heard to say that the "next time I see that we'll be live". The director or floor manager was audible in the background and studio lighting was still being adjusted.

The on-screen graphics failed during the bulletin.

It wasn't a good one

Whoops!

How come the sting for the update is always a mingey colour and not grey/white?

I've noticed this in a few videos of the daytime updates, and its impossible to see on TV as I'm on the other side of the world.

Did anyone notice an extra bit of set underneath the table in yesterday's TC7's 6 o'clock? It looked like they were trying to make the desk look a bit more like the N6 one or cover up the legs and printer etc?

Went to take a look on iplayer and by the looks of it there's not a "new bit" at the other side so it just looks silly.
