In fairness, a quick slide was needed for the breaking story.

Funny how they always managed to have a decent quality slide of a correspondent years ago when broadcasters cared more about quality and less about speed. If they were that desperate to get the story to air they probably should have just used a generic graphic without a photo, as that just looked horrendous.

Indeed... DQF seems to mean Delivering Quality Failures.

I really wish they could use a better CSO for the news summaries - it looks even worse when they use it on the Sunday Politics in comparison with the shiny new NBH studio. You can usually see some blue-ness and blocky edges around the presenter and it looks just as daft on Breakfast for live links.

The odd thing is, it doesn't even use the same part of the backdrop as we normally see in N6 so it's hard to pull it off as the normal studio anyway - at least for us who actually notice these things Wink

They'll likely stop using CSO for these when they move and use one of the newsroom presentation points instead.

How long has BBC News been using coverage from Sky Sports/ITV HD etc? Only just noticed tonight all the sport clips on the News Channel were from the HD versions of channels.

Probably since the move to Salford I guess. I suppose BBC News gets all the clips from there, but really not sure.

Surely, if you're posting this with the intention of bringing it to the attention of others, you could describe what is different about in rather than just announcing its differentness?

It was spectacular, you could see right up Sophie Raworth's nose.

Phill!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.

Both nostrils?

That's nothing. I remember Somoene smashing a glass bottle over Jan Leeming's head years ago during the news. (OK, maybe it was an exploding light bulb.)

I will come up with a witty comeback to this at some point in the near future... it will be awesome I promise. Laughing

A little montage with what I think was the BBC WORLD music at the end if the Six with the BBC News logo at the end before going to the regions.
