Was that the original One Show space that they were using this morning? Can't remember for sure, but positively convinced it was.

Also, do the BBC own the space? Where is it exactly in relation to the Mailbox?

Yes - it's a BBC area and the same one used for The One Show pilot series. They used to use it for the Sunday Politics/Politics Show regional inserts, and still use it when the MT studio is out of action too. It's been used for other bits over the years too like this Inside Out special:

It's not the same space AIUI but is directly beneath the area where the pilot One Show came from. IIRC The One Show built a temporary studio space overlooking the canal basin on the roof of the area BBC Midlands have used for The Politics Show. The Politics area is at the end of the Birmingham newsroom and has basic scaffolding lighting rig driven from the Birmingham Gallery. I believe it used to have two cameras though additional ones could be wheeled down from the TV Studio if required. Birmingham now do their Sunday Politics in the studio so that second presentation area is now presumably just a spare place from which to present Midlands Today if they need to.

Bang on BUT it was the other way round, the One Show set was built below the window on street level, above the stairs that lead down to the canal towpath and basin area, hence the mucky window!

It had the Dalek there as well, and was until recently the default DTL position!

Presumably this is the last 6 from TC7?

Possibly, yes! Hopefully they acknowledge that at the end of the programme + the same for Newsnight.

A slight pan around the studio at coming back from quarter past sting... Is this a hint?

EDIT: handing over to louise for the weather we swung behind the camera that covers the weather

I wouldn't expect acknowledgement from the News at Six, after all the average viewer won't notice anything at all.

It's the last Newsnight - but the Six will remain in TC7 for a little bit longer.

Is there meant to be no sport from BBC Sport Centre this evening?
Kate Silverton read out F1 and Tennis stories.

I think they only have a separate sports presenter for the late bulletin at weekends. Sport in the early evening bulletin is read out by the actual news presenter.

The latest run of Only Fools and Horses repeats has finished, so the 3pm update is back on BBC One from tomorrow - for a while, anyway.

Am I right in thinking the Jib camera is no longer in TC7 and been taken to NBH? Just wondered as yesterday on the 6 we didn't get the stand up on the other side of the studio but today we did and the camera panned and zoomed in. Just wondering of this was done with a normal Ped camera or whether I'm wrong and the Jib is still in TC7?
