Should have known this had been taken care of. At least it shows they were forward thinking, and made them HD originally.


I think things like title sequences and idents have been made in HD for years, even if there is no chance they'll ever be shown in HD. North West Tonight's title sequence from 2007 was HD for example. I think the reason is down-scaled HD is still better quality than standard SD.


Midlands Today and NWT seem to be downscaling their HD titles now, and they look miles better than most other regions - purely because the little quirks are still visible!

Was that montage at about 0015 accompanied by a new version of David Lowe's music. If so, I've got to be honest, I couldn't tell. Just sounded like the normal filler/countdown music to me. I think I've heard so many DL themes over the past 13 years that I'm getting to the point where I can't tell one from another!

The montage was just now on BBC1, Rob - I think, either way it sounded like a different version of the countdown, can't say I was impressed!
