Bet someone's heart jumped into their throat for a second when BBC News went off air during the headlines.

Should have known this had been taken care of. At least it shows they were forward thinking, and made them HD originally.

I think things like title sequences and idents have been made in HD for years, even if there is no chance they'll ever be shown in HD. North West Tonight's title sequence from 2007 was HD for example. I think the reason is down-scaled HD is still better quality than standard SD.

The titles do actually look a lot nicer in HD.

Things like the stripes in the grey and red bits are completely lost when downconverted and are part of the reason the titles have always looked a bit flat. Once you see them as they're meant to be they really come alive.

N6 being used for a down the line with one of the BBC reporters with the Live/Locator bug saying 'BBC Newsroom'. Don't think I've ever seen that happen before, with N6 normally fully in use for the News at One.

Did anyone cap the moment?

Also, the astronomer 'Mark Thompson' being interviewed now. Wink

Regarding the regions, why does South East Today get their own titles music? I know that NWT also adopted it,
