A different backdrop behind Maxine today on the Sunday Politics bulletin:

Looks like she's actually sat in front of one of the more boring parts of the usual TC7 News backdrop - rather than the green screen. Also looks like she is sat behind a desk though, so not 100% sure.

Didn't realise it might not be CSO. They are usually sat behind a desk. Did someone say it was Moira's old desk?

Is that not the old BBC Breakfast backdrop?

that's the other side of N6 backdrop. http://tv-live.org.uk/ have some images of the place i'm meaning. The angle is an unusual one for Maxine.

and the updates usually come from the side of TC7 using the old breakfast desk (Moira's desk) infront of a green screen. This picture is from aconnel on page 62 of this forum.

"Moira's Desk" will forever be known as Moira's desk!

Unfortunately how much longer will Moira's desk last? Not likely to make it to BH? Perhaps it might end up in someone's garden.

Interesting to note that we a expecting Sunday Politics to move to BH after the summer but it will be 2013 before the news channel and bulletins make the journey. This suggests that the news bulletin would still be coming from TVC. Would they just use the CSO studio and have the presenter standing or as it is a longer bulletin have ghe presentet perched on a stool not shown.

It looks as if Nick Robinson could be in a bit of hot water. He's being mentioned by David Cameron on numerous occasions today and it seems they are very close. Interestingly, Nick appeared on BBC breakfast this morning coming from the Leveson enquiry. However, I havent seen him since then and he didn't appear of the one o'clock news today. Could be interesting to see how this develops.

Yes, although I think a certain level of closeness is to be expected between politicians and journalists, this could be problematic for Robinson in terms of the impartiality of the BBC. If he is indeed reporting on the Leveson Inquiry then that could be seen as a conflict of interest.

See I saw the same bit of footage LiveAtFiveWithJeremy and thought the exact opposite... Nick Robinson is the BBC's Political Editor so one would assume it makes sense for him to have a good working relationship with political figures or he wouldn't be able to do his job.

David Cameron was asked about this and ISTR, LiveAtFiveWithJeremy, Cameron saying something along the lines of "...for obvious reasons..." when referring to why he was talking to Nick Robinson. I would be very surprised if Nick Robinson didnt have an equally close relationship with whatever lifeless shrub is leading the Labour Party.

I very much doubt that if the Leveson Inquiry does talk to LiveAtFiveWithJeremy, er sorry Nick Robinson, he cant exactly be accused of giving favourable or biased coverage of Cameron.

I mentioned your name a few times LiveAtFiveWithJeremy lets hope you're not in hot water. Razz

Although we should not read to much into Robinson not reporting Leveson. if that is indeed true. It has been the royal correspondents who have been covering it mainly, with the only political correspondent involved continually Ross Hawkins.

Yes I agree but I think the face that he was reporting on the enquiry this morning makes it a little embarrassing. I can only imagine he was schedules to do all the coverage of it today but had to be stood down due to his name being brought up a number of times.

is that a... erm... yes I do believe it is a GRUMPY FACE emoticon!

Oh shock horror the news is an hour late... well for those who cant wait that long the BBC have been planning for such an eventuality since 1997 when they launched an innovative new channel and called it BBC News 24. Later changing the name, which IMO was a bad choice, but nevertheless gives viewers not interested in football and HUNGRY for the news an everlasting supply at whatever time of the day they like.

...and for those who feel short changed by the reduced running time... ::points to the remote::
