Presumably they use TC7 because N10 (the clip studio) is in use for 60 Seconds on BBC Three?

And because N10 often produces a really bad CSO image?

Presumably they could move 60 Seconds to Broadcasting House at the same time/ before TC7 closes, and then move the 8pm update into N10 until the nationals move, or the 8pm update could come from Broadcasting House and be crewed by the Newsnight team, or produced by the BBC London team?

They could do it from the side barco of N6 because the NC would be on the weather. It just means a quick turnaround for the 8pm TOTH.

Or they could use N9 and do it from the big plasma screen.

N6 wouldn't work as the times vary, and it's far too close to the 8pm TOTH and the NC would probably have to show the bulletin too.

N9 would involve getting people into the gallery and getting the studio ready, where as TC7 is already in use during the evening.

Is there room for a green screen in N8? That is supposed to be running the full 9pm hour by the end of the year. I suppose they could either convert the pod to have a green screen or use the BARCO.

Think space is tight in N8 so probably not - maybe if the presenter was to stand right up against the Barco so that the silver frame isn't in sight?

I just seen this website which has been given a great new look.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/broadcastinghouse/

They have confirmed that the news studios will be testing new equipment to confirm them moving in.

It is all very exciting now! Very Happy

Also interestingly about the 8pm Summary Ellie Crisell has presented five days this week! Maybe a way of saving money?

That site is ages old, and rarely updated. In fact the only thing that's ever updated is the newsletter.

The webcam has been stuck on the same image for months.

But isn't there a plan to move the NC back to N8 once World have moved out?

Is there? If they do move back to N8 they could surely use the pod for the 8pm Summary while NC is in the main part of the studio.

I think you're forgetting that as well as studio floor space you also need a gallery and people to staff it

And again - the NC would have to show the 8pm update instead of the weather which wouldn't be consistent - plus if it runs at the same time as the TOTH should be, that knocks the NC off time.
