Did they also do the One from TC7? Seems strange in these times of costcutting to use the it rather than the clip studio for the short summaries unless there's a problem with it.

The one came from N6.

Maybe they're just creating jobs for those from newsround that didn't move up north

I seem to remember reading that these updates will be dropped after 2012 because of the frozen licence fee.

They should do the One in TC7 as well! It means they can make it into a proper stand alone bulletin again and also during the week only Breakfast, the Six and Newsnight are in there!

It is possible that maintenance was being carried out in the clip studio or it was unavailable for some other reason. I doubt that jobs are being made just for people who didn't move north. It is also possible that no additional staffing were required for the bulletin. Can the zoom on the cameras be either controlled from the gallery or be pre-programmed?

yeah would be good but I think it's all down to money because you'd need another crew for the studio. Also, and maybe someone in the know can keep me right, does the news channel and the one share the same producer/editior etc meaning that they would also have to move studios at 1pm?

Interesting question on Pointless today that would have been a gift if any TV forumers had been playing, they had to name the start times of BBC News programmes on BBC1 on a normal weekday

Answers in this order were
6pm - highest score
10pm
1pm
6am
3pm - lowest score

The 8pm update was seemingly not allowed.

Of course if they did the same question for ITV, we'd all probably go with 5:30am as an answer.

I'd've gone for the 12.13, naturally.

That wasn't allowed as it was an update not a bulletin.
It seemed it had to have its own slot on the EPG rather than a 'followed by BBC News update'

10.57 news update came from TC7 this morning.

Are they still doing the daytime summaries in TC7 or are they back to the clip studio?

Back to the clip studio - they must have been trying it out in TC7 that day. Personally I think they should stick with it, they may as well use the space they have, surely it doesn't cost much more to put out a broadcast from the desk in TC7 than it does to stick them on the CSO?

Turning the lights off saves on their electricity bill... just sayin.
