Over the past several years they've regularly produced trailers for the BBC News at Ten/ Ten O'Clock news - in N6 pre-2008, in TC7 post-2007 - but they were on BBC One. I wonder why they're now doing them on BBC Two?
Because all four BBC TV channels cross promote each other, they always have, and why ever should they not ?
Those promos were launched in early 1999 I think to capitalise on ITV's News at 10 moving, and to get people to watch the Nine O'Clock News rather than whatever ITV had at 9. They always sounded quite awkward with the 1993 music right at the start as it was clearly not designed for short trailers! Then of course the 10 launched the following year so they were used to promote that.
Looking at that You Tube clip there's no music at all in the trailer - as that was the day of the ITN changes it may well even be the first one they did.

But usually not the news programmes - I can't ever remember seeing a Newsnight trail on BBC 1, for example.
Standing up in the newsroom without jacket as I recall?
Indeed! Peter Sissons in braces
Really? I didn't know he had bad teeth, Rob. LOL.
Bring him back. He was great.
No chance of that happening - he's far too angry at the BBC....and he was never any good on the News Channel anyway, getting quite flustered. Julia Somerville tends to be the same although not quite as bad.

True, though BBC South usually plug it at the end of their 22:25 BBC 1 bulletin.
I like the sting at the start. I remember seeing some draft versions of the 2008 titles and the numerical of the bulletin, 1,6 and 10, were all really prominent throughout the titles, rather than just appearing at the end. Shame they never developed that further.
That sting is very good. That should have been incorporated some how because I think it works better than the current set-up, where the headline bed crashes straight after the ident music on BBC One. It is a much better transition and, of course, adds more branding to the BBC's flagship bulletin, which they should make more of a big deal of.
It's similar to the sting used to begin World News America as well, which I really like.
Don't really like the headline bed though, with all of the whooshing, but the whole run-through of the headlines is much smoother. I would say that the current headline bed is too bold and dramatic, but I think the one used in the promo is a little weak. The thunderclap after each headline is too harsh ATM. Either get rid of it, or change it.
Also they have replaced the BBC News box with BBC One box, never really seen on screen, only in TV listings it seems!
Agree, the camera work suddenly shifts. I don't really like the camera work at the beginning of the 10 either, it's very shaky and I hope something that improves in BH, whatever happens there.
Plus the music at the end of my video is out of sync with the visuals.
