More camera interestingness tonight in TC7. The camera panned in as normal - then as Sian talked, moved across to show this map:

It was a nice touch. Smile

Basic graphics in use on the One today - slightly smaller text, the astons fading on and off instead of animating, and the location graphic being removed while a name strap is displayed.

Very similar to what some of the regions use - perfectly adequate though.

There's also something slightly odd going on when the name aston fades appears - a black bar (like the location tag) appears on the left on the LIVE bug. I think something needs turning off and on again.

Is this shot new too, at the opening, it seemed higher than usual.

They've been a bit more experimental in TC7 as of late - making the most of their jib camera! We've seen it like that before, and they've been doing it from the floor upwards as well. Depends on the producer in charge as to whether we see these things or not.

No, it's mostly always that high whenever I tune into the Six. It's been like that for a while, and gradually pans down as the newsreader starts reading the first story. They seem to use those nice camera angles for a lot of news programmes that come from TC7, including the Six, Breakfast and Newsnight.

Bless Kate using her papers to try and hide the bump!

Could also be why the camera is so high at the beginning. I remember reading about when someone in Coronation or some soap where they used camera angles to make it look like she wasn't pregnant.

Rather pedantic I know but you can only pan left and right its tilt up and down.

I think it's Afternoon Sian, not Evening!

Taken from the Six O' Clock News back in 2001, I've never seen this background behind Huw before. Does anyone know how long it lasted for? According to TV ARK, they were 'experimenting', which suggests it was only temporary.

Wasn't that after the bomb outside TVC?
