Nice to hear Matt Taylor (weather presenter) mention Ceefax for the weather updates at the end of the 6'oclock news. No-one ever mentions Ceefax in this day and age!

Could that be because a substantial proportion of the audience no longer have access to the service. How long before it will be gone forever?

BBC Scotland viewers were treated to pages from Ceefax last night at 01:35 after Matt Taylor's Weatherview.
Although no one in Scotland now receives analogue broadcasts from the BBC, the Ceefax stream was fed up from London and played out on all digital platforms here, along with some fantastic music.

Except that firstly Match of The Day returns and so Breakfast finishes early again on BBC 1 to allow it to be repeated. Secondly presumably different teams deal with Breakfast and the BBC News Channel so that would involve change shifts for the sake of a few weeks. It also fits in with the idea that BBC One is supposed to join the BBC News Channel (or that was at least what was said when the channel was renamed).
