I just realised this will be the last year of BBC News Channel BARCO discussion.

Don't bet on it... Wink

Well, last full year. Razz

I hope they install a few BARCO screens at Broadcasting House now.... Laughing

You seem to be assuming they won't have and projection cubes in the studio... odd.

Well ten years ago today a new national news bulletin was launched by the BBC ... 60seconds on the then BBC Choice ... you can see what it looked like from the first week on this blog post from Sam one of the current presenters ...

Didn't spot it myself but according to a Twitter post there was a BBC Newsflash this evening:

Wow. Sorting out my first ever BBC One Newsflash. 20:58:40 after Countryfile. That's history @JaneHillNews (for me at least!).

It did indeed happen, Jane Hill had joined Anita McVeigh on the News channel and just before 9, they cut to a shot of Jane addressing the BBC One viewers to the news about the Commissioner resigning, it then cut away on the News channel to the countdown and a usual TOTH followed.

Thanks for that. Was it shown on the BBC News Channel as well then?

Thanks for that. Very unusual to have a newsflash let alone at the weekend.

Weird you say that. The last newsflash was ... at a weekend. The Saturday when the Libyian bombing started

Though I do wonder if there would have been a newsflash should the late evening news not have been so late (11pm tonight). It's not like they had the flash ASAP, such as at 8pm

I suspect the reason for the newsflash was indeed due to The Apprentice running till 11, as opposed to the importance of the story.

It seemed to be a more Tease Ahead to the news, what was going to be discussed on the 11pm news and for more on the story to switch over to the News channel.
