I remember being in the TC7 gallery last year when Andy Murray was playing at Wimbledon and up until 5mins before the 6 was due to go out, the gallery/BBC News controllers didn't know if they were going out on BBC1 or 2 as its out of their hands and down to network. They ended up being pushed over to BBC2.
It was funny watching the regions trying to find out what was happening, and calling London for info!
The same will probably happen this year, my reconning - the 6 will go out on BBC2.
In reply to these posts which ended up wrongly in the Rota thread:
I really hope the same mistake isn't made again with the News ending up on BBC2, surely it isn't too difficult to flick from BBC One to BBC Two? it takes literally two seconds!
The big issue is that the regions who have had the switchover won't be able to receive their regional programs whatsoever - and those that haven't have to watch on Analogue (which might not be easy with some TVs having their aerial plugged directly into Freeview and none into the analogue reciever) because BBC2 is only regional on Analogue.
So what bets are we taking on what happens to the 6 and Regional News this evening. Andy Murray likely to be in full flow so I don't imagine they'll move that.
I understand the regions have been told they could have 4 minutes, they could have 28. And it could be on 1 or 2. But surely they won't put them out on 2... will they!?!

latest from Leeds on Twitter:
Sorry but @BBCLookNorth has been moved from its 1830 slot due to Wimbledon. We WILL have a programme later. Watch this space for details.

There was a regional opt in the headlines at 6, despite being on BBC Two - although here in Wales, opting out on Two isn't a problem anyway. (I assume the English regions all got London?)
